Episode 3: Let Go, Lean in with Elizabeth Knox of MatchPace

In this Episode, Lisa Interviews Elizabeth Knox of MatchPace.
Elizabeth Knox started MatchPace in 2016 because of her love for working. She knows how much companies, government agencies, and non-profits contribute to the good that the world needs, and Elizabeth helps organizations use the right team, to focus on the right priorities, to drive to the right outcomes and give people back their time.
You can find Elizabeth squarely in the "messy middle" of her life: running a young company, while raising 4 small children, being a spouse, and a community member. She speaks from a place of honesty, not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who, like most of us, is still trying to figure it out, and knows that figuring-it-out is a life-long process.
Elizabeth is the host of the podcast "You Need to Stop Doing That," offering refreshing ideas that challenge the thought that, more often than not, our answer is to add more to our lives - more tech solutions, more activities, more stuff; but in reality, if we want to live a life in line with our priorities, we often need to prune things away.
Elizabeth's writing has been featured in HuffPost, Thrive Global, Today's Parents, and Today's Christian Women. Her first book, Faith Powered Profession - a Woman's Guide to Living with Faith and Values in the Workplace was published in 2013 (and you can find it on the 4word website!) and helps women grasp the importance and power of their professional work.

Episode 2: Let Go of Doing it All
Tuesday Aug 11, 2020
Tuesday Aug 11, 2020
In this Episode: Lisa addresses, “Why Let Go, Lean in” …
She starts the episode by sharing that she used to be an elementary school teacher and shares a story about teaching her students early science: they studied caterpillars that transformed into butterflies. Perhaps you remember: the chrysalis after a period of time, through the shaking and wiggling back and forth there’s a crack and then out of the struggle of transformation, that chrysalis becomes a beautiful butterfly. The point? Through the struggle and transformation comes growth and beauty.
For many of us there is a struggle in letting go - but Lisa asks the big question: “what are we letting go of?” Perhaps self-limiting beliefs, or expectations that we have believed to be truths of our leadership, our way of life….
In this episode, Lisa talks with her listeners about letting go of doing it all, especially as women who often wear many hats at the same time. She touches on Proverbs 31, and encourages you to join her in a breathing exercise which is something you can add to your transformational leadership tool-belt.
Bottom line:
Let go of the idea that we can do it all. Continue to refine your awareness. So friends, now is the time to Let go, & Lean in.
Lisa’s word of encouragement: You need to make time to be filled up before you are poured out for others. Make a time of quiet with Jesus a priority everyday.

Welcome to Let Go, Lean In, my podcast designed with transformational leaders like you in mind. I'm Lisa Lewis, your transformational leadership coach. In each episode, you'll find help growing awareness of your mindset as a leader, be equipped with a tool to let go of unrealistic expectations and self-limiting beliefs that get in the way of your one precious life. My goal is for you to thrive as you lean in toward the leadership call God has put on your life. Join me and other leaders as we let go and lean in together.
In this Episode: Lisa dives right into talking about our current unprecedented times: Yet we still have the privilege to lead others. And in doing so in this new era of shelter in place, and safer at home this time also presents new opportunities to make mistakes.
Lisa asks some key questions:
- How do we address the mistakes we make?
- Are we quick to jump on our own case and get down on ourselves and hold ourselves back? Lisa invites you and to take a look at our mistakes in an entire new way.
"If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything.” - John Wooden.
Lisa provides a tool which she uses in her coaching practice that has helped many women in leadership take action in their lives today. This tool is called the F.A.S.T. Track to Change - in 5 steps!
Step 1: Identify one area in your personal or professional life that you want to change (write it down)
Step 2: Think of a time when it served you and capture that story
Step 3: Describe for yourself how this identified change will help you going forward.
Step 4: List three steps that can move you forward to make that identified change a reality.
Step 5: Choose one of those three steps and do it today. Don't just plan for it. Take the action.
Bottom line: You're going to make mistakes.
What we do with those mistakes is where we get to grow and develop our leadership.
It’s time to recognize there's something to be learned from our mistakes.
Lisa’s word of encouragement: “Make those mistakes because that means you're doing something. And figure out what's one area that you want to change, and then go through those steps and take action today.”
